October 22, 2016

Last month to celebrate Organic September, I was invited to attend my very first blogger event on September 22nd, which was hosted by Arganic in Shoreditch. The event was in collaboration with the Soil Association, Green & Blacks ( yum! ) and Pukka Tea. Arganic produces 100% pure and cold pressed argan oil and the purpose of the event was to highlight the importance of spreading awareness about organic produce, and learning how to make your very own face scrubs at home.

Dana Elemara CEO and founder of Arganic, began her journey when she decided to make a meaningful impact on the world, and engage in something she could put her heart into. Arganic work directly with partners in South West Morocco to produce organic argan oil which can be used in cosmetics and food.

The event began with a choice of Pukka Tea, bloggers sat around the beautifully set out table with fresh ingredients laid out, such as zesty lemon juice, subtle rose water, vanilla powder and more. There was a selection of hand roasted nuts to snack on, gorgeous rye bread and of course, Green & Blacks sea salt chocolate.

An introduction took place with information about the Arganic brand and soon after we started to create our own face scrubs with the help of the Arganic team. From the ingredients set out on the table I had chosen vanilla ( one of my all time favourite scents ), and lemon juice. The base of the scrub was made with argan oil, cacao nibs and salt.

Whilst mixing our formulas we discussed the relevance of the Soil Association. For those of you who haven't heard about the Soil Association, they are the UK's leading membership charity campaigning for healthy, humane and sustainable food, farming and land use. I have included a picture above to show you guys, the aim of the Soil Association in Organic Beauty so make sure to read the little pink leaflet, and look for the logo ;)

With no doubt, I didn't leave the event empty handed! I received lots of mindful facts, and a gorgeous goody bag with items such as coconut oil, a selection of Pukka Teas and more!

Did you celebrate Organic September?
