I was beyond over the moon when Photowall got in contact with me. I've been on the search for wall art for such a long time now, and I've never known exactly what I've wanted. I'm obsessed with Scandinavian interiors, and I thoroughly enjoy mixing minimalism with texture and warmth. My bedroom is very much my hiding space, my own little place filled with collected treasures and wonder. It wasn't until the end of last year that I began to make a few changes to my room, and I definitely wanted to invest in some gorgeous wall art, a mix of whimsical pieces to give my space a little something extra.

Photowall is a Swedish company who are also official partners with Disney. They work closely with photographers and designers across the globe, to create unique wall murals and canvases. What I really loved about Photowall is their environmental work. All production is made to order, and the printing ink they use contain no solvents, hazardous chemicals and is biodegradable. When you shop with Photowall you are also supporting Swedish aid organisation Vi Agroforestry. Every year Photowall plants 5000 trees in eastern Africa to help fight poverty, improve the environment and combat climate change. Read more here.

Whilst browsing through Photowall's website, I was stunned at the huge selection of designs they had, suitable for all personalities and ages. Amongst many others, one of my faves was Botany Banana, which is a gorgeous, earthy, tropical leaf print, and definitely a mural I would've purchased if it fitted with the theme of my room.

You're also able to create custom wall murals and canvases by using your own images/illustrations, which is what I had decided to do. I was torn between an image by Peter Linbergh ( one of my all time favourite photographers ), or an image shot by David Sims. In the end, I chose the works of Sims and settled on a Saint Laurent editorial featuring Kate Moss. The ordering process is super easy, and you're able to take advantage of the service that Photowall provides if you need any personal assistance managing your photo.

To avoid getting damaged during transit, the canvas and frame are sent in pieces which means that on arrival you have to put your wall art together. I was very apprehensive because I'm not much of a DIY person at all. Easy to follow instructions are included, and you can also find a video online with a quick demonstration on how to put your canvas together. ( Thanks again Dad for helping me, if you're reading lol ) I'm still unsure where in my room I will place the picture, but I like the idea of having a few canvases messily spread out on the floor.
